Staying sane in this Pandemic

The world is clearly in a strange place in the last 1.5 years, many of us have not been able to travel back to our home country to visit our families and friends, some people are stuck somewhere out there due to borders lockdown and even more devastated, to have lost a family or friend through this pandemic.

So in the last 2.5 months, I think I have only left the house 4–5 times in total, and to pick up groceries or food, as the area I live in falls into one of the hotspots so it is very restricted to what we can and cannot do.

What have I been doing?

I purchased a coffee machine and I think this is the best investment that I have made (besides crypto LOL) this year, the smell of coffee each morning makes me wants to get out of bed asap. It is nothing fancy, it uses coffee pods but it's good enough for me, I don't have the patience to use the barista’s type to serve up for me only..

I paid $150 worth of coffee pods to get a free machine that's worth $250. I thought it would be a lot of coffee..but only a small box came :) also means I will be indebted to purchase coffee pods forever :))

I also got a bread maker machine for like $14, someone told me that nothing can beat the fresh smells of bread when it is first done. Well, I haven’t got to that stage yet but I am hoping to make a one of a kind loaf soon. I am still testing and creating my own recipe.

I was never the type to bake, I can cook good food, but it tends to burn or taste really off whenever I bake something. Lately, I haven't been cooking but has been baking different type of cakes instead, from cheesecakes (never would I ever think that I will make cheesecake one day), sponge cake, Viet cakes, banana cake etc

I purchased a treadmill because I feel anxious when I go for a walk outside lately. This could probably be because I have been indoor for too long and I am scared of people now :(

That was my last big purchase but I think it will keep me happy for a while. Especially now we might be in lockdown until Christmas.

So I have been keeping myself busy, I try to divert my attention off the screen after work for few hours before I get back online to check my portfolio, get updates on my investment, chat with friends etc

Whatever it is that you enjoy doing, leverage that to make you feel better. Invest in your hobby and keep yourself busy during this time, is my only advice.
